Jeremiah 14:5-7

⁵ Even the doe in the field
    deserts her newborn fawn
    because there is no grass.^(A)
6 Wild donkeys stand on the barren heights^(B)
    and pant like jackals;
their eyes fail
    for lack of food.”^(C)

⁷ Although our sins testify^(D) against us,
    do something, Lord, for the sake of your name.^(E)
For we have often rebelled;^(F)
    we have sinned^(G) against you.
